BEANY KIDS BIKES

The impulse for the creation of Beany and the beginning of the development of children's bicycles was the simple need of the owner of the brand, Roman Blažek, to find the best bicycles for his children. Even after a very careful research of the market, he could not find anything that would meet his idea of the ideal bike for his daughter and son in terms of quality and price. He therefore decided to make them himself. After all, his many years of experience in the production of sports equipment and activity in the cycling world were the best preparation for him.

It was clear right from the start – the bikes must be the lightest on the market and have a lightweight sporty design that will appeal not only to parents but also to children. Bikes will not be a scaled-down version of an adult bike, but on the contrary, they will be developed specifically for the needs of children, they will respect their physiology, and all the components on the bike will be selected in such a way that they are great and easy for children to handle. This was also the reason why Roman Blažek collaborated with physiotherapists from FTVS (Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University) on the development of the ideal bike.

FROM PAPER TO THE LABORATORY

The initial designs of the bicycle were created with the cooperation of physiotherapists and paediatricians on paper and it took several months to produce the first rough prototype, which then headed to the FTVS laboratories for testing. Here, the frame went through a very careful and demanding examination, during which several aspects were tested. However, all tests took into account the proportions of the child, i.e. the ratio of the frame to the length of the torso, arms or legs, and based on the results, the frame had to be adjusted again with the help of experts. This testing phase was repeated several times and resulted in a frame that perfectly suited the child's body and the needs and abilities of young cyclists. Beany therefore brings a new unique frame geometry that really respects all the requirements of a child's figure and enables a healthy and comfortable sitting position and a safe ride.

THE FIGHT FOR EACH GRAM

The goal was the lowest possible weight of the bike, but at the same time high-quality components that perfectly fit children's proportions. For the production of the frame, the highest quality and lightest aluminum was chosen, which is also used for the production of top bikes for adults. This material can be weakened up to three times using special technology and thereby reduce the final weight.

After achieving the lowest possible weight, the frame was subjected to another series of very rigorous trials and tests. The next step was the choice of handlebars, cranks and wheels so that they not only fit the child's figure perfectly, but at the same time were of good quality and, above all, light enough. However, after the first installation, the bike was heavier than originally planned, so it was necessary to start from the beginning and reduce the weight to the lowest possible minimum. Beany's bikes went through this wheel about three times, but all the hard work paid off. The result is a great bike with the highest quality components that fully respects the body proportions and needs of children. All wheel sizes have passed very strict tests and are tested for about three times the weight of the child. The ZERO 20 bike has a load capacity of 70 kg, and the junior ZERO 29 even has a load capacity of 120 kg, which means that even if it is not primarily intended for adults, it can safely carry them.

Beany is synonymous with the joy of movement and it's wonderful to see how enthusiastically and happily children ride our bikes. And it is their enthusiasm, the enthusiasm of their parents, and especially the incredibly positive feedback from the market that drives us forward. We're not resting on our laurels, but we're still working to make our bikes even better and fit their little owners even better.

SNOWBOARDS

Biax Fiberglass is a material woven from fibers under a 90° angle. Snowboards with biax fiberglass are softer and forgive certain riding mistakes. Yet they keep excellent flexibility and torsion. Biax snowboards easily overcome any unevenness of terrain. Their effortless manageability makes them ideal for riders with lower body weight - women and kids especially.

Camber is a traditional snowboard shape – when placed on a flat surface it has four contact points with the snow near the tip and the tail, and it arches up at the centre between the bindings. Effective edge is in contact with the surface along its full length  with even more pressure on the contact points. This provides excellent edge grip throughout the turn. Such snowboard is easy to ride, enabling continuous flow from one edge onto another even on harder and more aggressive terain and in greater speed.

The Directional is the classic, most versatile snowboard shape, designed with a slightly extended tip to concentrate pop in the heel area while offering plenty of control in all terrains and conditions.

The extruded slide is durable and requires little maintenance. It can withstand harsh treatment on and off the slopes, in the parks and on the rails. It is made of polyethylene particles that are melted and then formed into the desired shape. The resulting slide is really uniform, non-porous and very durable. It will never hold wax as well as a sintered slide and therefore is slower compared to a waxed sintered slide. On the other hand, it will always be faster than an unmaintained/unwaxed sintered slide.

Flat sag is actually zero sag. The board is in contact with the surface along its entire length with the exception of the heel and toe. This distributes the rider's weight more evenly along the length of the effective edge and eliminates the risk of "stuck". Flat offers a seamless and smooth ride and forgives some mistakes.

All our snowboards have a 100% wooden, specially treated, ground core made of poplar and exotic paulownia tree, which allows for better flex and control over the board. The riding characteristics of a snowboard with such a modified core are ideal for young and light riders.

3D shape - brings the best of both camber and rocker construction and something more - CRADLE curvature along the entire snowboard, which makes the snowboard very easy and intuitive to control and steer. 3D shape is the best for young riders on the slopes, in open terrain and in the snow park, everywhere the rider will definitely appreciate the "obedience" of the board.

The shape of the snowboard is perfectly symmetrical for a balanced ride, both front and back. The tip and the foot of the snowboard are the same length. The front foot is as far from the tip of the snowboard as the back foot is from the bottom of the snowboard.

The Beany brand worked on a special RESPONSIVE TECHNOLOGY for juniors and children for more than two years before being satisfied with the result.

RESPONSIVE TECHNOLOGY consists in demanding and precise grinding of the wooden core and special folding of laminates in the production of children's snobs. Thanks to this technology, Beany snowboars are not only very light, but also soft in flexion, while maintaining the necessary torsional hardness. They are ideal boards for all small and young riders.
