TO HAVE A LITTLE CHAT WITH "THE DEER!

04.02.2021

"Deer." coach of the Czech snowboardcross team, who led Eva Samkova to victory at her first Olympics in Sochi, Russia. What would you recommend to parents who want to introduce their children to winter sports, when should they start their lessons? As it is with all other sports. It is necessary to build a positive relationship with movement, which should be one of the main priorities of every parent and teacher. Whether children slide on boots, on "spoons" or attempt more challenging snowboarding is probably one thing in early childhood. At the age of two or three, you can already experience a lot of fun together, with the right equipment and in the right terrain. ????⛷

TO HAVE A LITTLE CHAT WITH "THE DEER!

"Jelen" is the coach of the Czech snowboardcross team, who led Eva Samkova to victory at her first Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

What advice would you give to parents who want to introduce their children to winter sports, when should they start learning?

As it is with all other sports. It is necessary to build a positive relationship with movement, which should be one of the main priorities of every parent and teacher. Whether children slide on boots, on "spoons" or attempt more challenging snowboarding is probably one thing in early childhood. Already at the age of two or three you can experience a lot of fun together, with the right equipment and chosen terrain.

2) Where to start. Skis or snowboard?

See question before, against taste no "quibble" a snowboard is harder than skis. However, the important thing is that the kids enjoy the sport.Ideally both.

3) From your point of view, is the equipment important, does its quality, parameters etc. matter?

If the equipment is not age, skill, size appropriate it will be neither healthy nor fun. So, YES!

4) Your personal pro for parents of small riders?

Ideally combine skis, board and cross country skis from the early age of the child.
