We have asked some key questions on your behalf:
Does a young child belong on a bike, or is it primarily a whim of parents who are avid cyclists? And how old is it to start?
Children definitely belong on a bike, it's a healthy sport and a distraction. Up to about two and a half years of age, a bicycle is ideal, where they learn to balance and control the handlebars, so from about three years of age they can "switch" to a bike.
Can parents overload the child with long routes?
"I think that if the terrain and bike are chosen appropriately, the route won't harm him, even if it's longer - but the most important thing is that he enjoys the ride! I don't think anyone is going to take a six-year-old out for a six-hour trip in one go. You need to think of stops and some distractions along the way. If the kid isn't enjoying it, he'll get stuck - before the congestion sets in... It happened to my son too, of course - when he was about five, in Hungary, after an hour and a half of driving, he lay down in the middle of the road and said he just wasn't going any further. (laughs)", says Roman Blažek.
