Round one. First runs. First experiences. Do you remember your first bike? Times were different, and weight wasn't exactly a factor back then. The pedaling was a little stiff, so it was a little creaky in the beginning.

But that's no longer the case.
Thanks to Beany bikes, children's cycling is undergoing a revolution.

The Beany Zero 16 weighs only 5 kg - and this is a key difference compared to regular bikes, which often weigh 2-3 kg more (but there are also bikes with double the weight). For a small child, this is a crucial difference. A lightweight bike is easy to handle, safe to stop and - most importantly - an experience that he will look back on with relish. Why does the weight of a child's bike matter so much? Think of it this way: if a child's bike weighs, for example, 9 kg and the child weighs 18 kg, it's the same as an adult weighing 90 kg riding a bike that weighs 45 kg. Would he enjoy such a ride? Probably not. And it's exactly the same for children.

When the bike is light, the ride is natural, easy and smooth. The child learns good cycling habits very quickly, gains confidence and finds riding a real joy. In addition, the bike can be lifted by itself if necessary - this will also be appreciated by parents who often carry their first bicycle or carry it hanging on a sibling's stroller.

At Beany, we know that a child is not a small adult and shrinking an adult bike to a smaller size is not an option. We have gone much further in the development of our bikes. In collaboration with physiotherapists, we have developed our own frame geometry - and we have tailored it directly to the proportions of a child's body.

This way, the child sits in the right position, reaches the handlebars and brakes perfectly and the body is not unnecessarily stressed while riding. We have adapted all the components of the bike to the child's size. If we couldn't find what the child needed on the market, we developed our own components under our Solely.jr brand. We've also narrowed the handlebar diameter for added safety and better handling, and placed a small guide handle for parents on the bike's saddle - perfect for first starts or help when stopping.
