Ready for the Horsefeathers Kids Snowboard Tour?

This season has not only blessed us with a good snowfall,
but also with another year of the successful Horsefeathers Kids series of races for the little ones.
Snowboard Tour! The races, which are part of the COOL Just Ride, are being held for the third
season in a row. They're designed for new and up-and-coming snowboard killers, and you can
be one now! Ride for the same team as our Czech and Slovak killers Dusan Kriz,
Petr Horis, Zoltán Strcula, or the world famous Helgasson brothers?

How about the snowboard camp organized by the Czech Snowboard School for the winners of the competitions ? Does that sound great? Read on, because we've summed it all up for you in a nice Q&A and at the end we've interviewed last year's winner Kuba Hrones.

How many Horsefeathers Kids Snowboard Tour stops are there in total?

In total, there will be five Horsefeathers Kids Snowboard Tour stops during this year's COOL Just Ride, namely:

19. 1. Špindlerův Mlýn
Deštné v Orlických Horách, 26 January
9. 2. 2.
16. 2. Ještěd
9. 3. Karlov pod Pradědem.

Who is the Horsefeathers Kids Snowboard Tour for and how can I register?

If you are between 0-14 years old, love snowboarding and want to improve with every ride, the Kids Tour is just what you need. Attention, everyone can participate, you don't have to be from the Czech Republic! In total, there are four categories of competition during each race, namely:

0 - 8 years - boys and girls together
9 - 11 years - boys and girls together
12 - 14 years - girls
12 - 14 years - boys.

Registration for each race is completely free and will take place on site at the Horsefeathers clothing stand. To register you will also need your legal guardian to come with you and have a refundable deposit of 100 crowns for your jersey .

How will the races themselves be run?

At each stop, the race will be run as a jam where judges will assess trick difficulty, style, creativity and desire to ride. The winners will then split the points for the overall standings, with

1st place will receive 1000 points
2nd place 800 points
3rd place 600 points
4th place 500 points
5th place 400 points and so on...

The overall ranking will be calculated from your three best races, so the more races you complete, the better your chances of success! In the event that two riders have the same number of points at the end of the series, the rider who has ridden more stops wins.

What can I expect if I win?

After each race, the top male and female riders will be announced according to the four categories mentioned above. The winners of all races will receive diplomas and prizes on the spot. For the overall winners (i.e. four of you) of the Horsefeathers Kids Snowboard Tour, there is a trip to the best camp in the Alps, prepared by the Czech Snowboard School, which has been organizing supercharged camps in Kaprun, Austria, for all ages with great instructors such as Honza Lohynsky, Martin Kaňůrk or Martin Popper.

There is simply never a shortage of new skills and fun. In addition, the overall winners of the Horsefeathers Kids Snowboard Tour will receive a year's sponsorship from Horsefeathers clothing, and Beany Snowboards! Will there be more to come? :-) Yes! When you're not riding, you can check out and try on the latest Horsefeathers collection at each stop, both men's and women's outwear, and learn more about our products.

For the little ones, we have prepared a "Kids snowboard zone" during the tour, where in cooperation with Beany Snowboards and the Czech Snowboard School, anyone will be able to try and test both Horsefeathers children's products and complete snowboard equipment (snowboard, boots, bindings), or learn more about the aforementioned super camp from the Czech Snowboard School.

Finally, we briefly interviewed the winner of last year's Horsefeathers Kids Snowboard Tour, Kuba Hrones:

S: Hi Kuba, can you start by introducing yourself?
K: Man, my name is Kuba Hrones, I'm 14 years old and I live in Spindleruv Mlyn. I am 14 years old and I have been snowboarding since I was 2 and a half years old. My dad, who used to run Freemagazine, led me to snowboarding, so I was close to it.

S: How was last year's Kids Tour for you and how long have you been riding in that time?
K: Last year's Kids Tour was very busy, it was all over the country and had a lot of great riders in all categories. I myself went around all the stops and rode with some great guys like Mato "Cifra" Jozsa or Kuba Vosáhlo. Thanks to the Kids Tour, I also rode in a lot of resorts I've never been to before. When the Kids Tour started last year, I had been snowboarding for 11 years. Last season was the best season of all, but I hope this season will surpass it.

S: What does snowboarding mean to you as a whole?
K: Snowboarding for me means mainly the opportunity to meet new people, the opportunity to travel all over the place, the opportunity to improve and learn tricks from other riders.

S: Hmm, where do you want to go in snowboarding? :-)
K: I would like to do snowboarding at a professional level one day and I would definitely like to go to the Olympics or X-Games. I still have to work on that though, haha. We are looking forward to seeing you on the 19th of January in Spindleruv Mlyn!
